Last weekend took place in Mechelen-Belgium the 5th stage of the Europa Cup 2012! Andreia Nicolau, was the only Team Gyro member present in this competion! Things didn't really work out for her, as the weather conditions in the previous weeks weren't the best to be able to skate! Andreia also participated in the Retro Race, a race raced on quads as you can see in the pictures bellow! Here are her results,

Europa Cup - Gross Gerau

3rd stage of the Europa Cup 2012

The third stage of the Europa Cup 2012 took place this weekend (April 27th-29th) in Gross-Gerau - Germany! This time both Marta Nunes and Andreia Nicolau raced in the event!  Here are the girls results (Sprint & Kriterium).

Linz Half marathon

Marta Nunes won this Sunday the Linz half marathon in Linz, Austria, with the time of 41’57’’. The race had a slow tempo, but the end was fast with the Austrian skaters starting the sprint on the last corner right before the finishi straight. However Marta was stronger on the sprint and took the victory for Team Gyro.

Next weekend, Marta Nunes and Andreia Nicolau will be racing at the Kriterium Gross Gerau, the third stage of the Europa Cup 2012 in Gross Gerau - Germany.

Europa Cup - Bologna

The first stage of the Europa Cup 2012 took place in Bologna - Italy, on the past weekend March 31st and April 1st!
Team Gyro (Europe) was present with only one of their members, Marta Nunes, but non the less!

X Terras do Infante 2012

The X International Tournament Tivoli Terras do Infante 2012, served as kick off to the new 2012 Inline Speed Skating season! The tournament took place in Lagos – Portugal, between 18th and 20th of February, where the sun was shinning and the temperature was also very pleasant.

Marta Nunes, Team Gyro skater, represented her home club "Clube de Patinagem de Beja", was far from her best form, but the goal was to get some competitive rhythm.

The tournament started with the 500m, where Marta Nunes ended in 4th position, followed by the 5k points, where she got a 13th place. On Sunday, the 25km crossed some streets of the city as well as some sections of the N125,  a very hard route with  long slopes. In this race, the Team Gyro athlete finished in 14th place!

O Monday, the last day of the tournament, Marta raced the last race of the tournament, the 5k points/ elimination, end ended up in the 12th position, finishing this year’s tournament in 6th place overall!
